Introduction to Lazada eLogistics (LeL)

Everything written about eCommerce opportunity in Southeast Asia is overwhelmingly positive - a population of 600 million plus consumers, growing internet connectivity, broad penetration of smart phones, a young and tech savvy population and expanding GDP and purchasing power. The region’s rate of eCommerce share of total retail at around 1 percent shows enormous opportunity in comparison to 14-17% in the west and China.

Despite these extraordinary possibilities, the logistics environment in SE Asia remains a huge challenge.

Lazada eLogistics (LeL) mission is to address these challenges, delight customers and win them over to eCommerce. We are building an innovative, highly visible, low cost logistics network. Our operating model is based on an ecosystem of logistics partners stitched together with state of the art technology and our modular infrastructure

LeL is the Logistics arm of the Lazada Group and is structured around four operating Business Units

  • Express: own B2C last mile delivery capabilities from pick-up to sort to delivery
  • Transport: Management of our ecosystem of partners (3PLs) along all the transportation components
  • Fulfilment: Operation of a network of warehouses that can fill retail orders on our own behalf, as well as providing fulfilment services to merchants and international brands
  • Crossborder: Build-up & management of international logistics network giving seamlessly access to ASEAN

The role:

  • Define fulfillment network strategy and roadmap
  • Monitor all KPIs & initiatives and ensure we deliver as per plan & requirements. Ensure we meet cost per order targets & we open Fulfilment Centre across Indonesia archipelago as per plan (size & location). In particular, to drive the build to suit projects across the region
  • Set priorities, allocate resources to deliver roadmap and take ownership of fulfillment scope
  • Drive change via technology, process and automation
  • Control costs, operations performance and HSSE compliance
  • Bring initiatives and implement innovations to build competitive advantage through data & technology
  • Ensure consistent implementation of regional blueprint
  • Identify process gaps based on data & analysis. Drive related improvements
  • Provide regular KPI reports with data and actions to measure progress against the plan objectives
  • Lead the planning process: headcount, cost, CAPEX
  • Develop team, adapt org chart to business needs, recruit talents, identify career path for high potentials, develop team commitment and motivation
  • Develop team mindset and skills toward continuous improvement, proactiveness and entrepreneurship

 

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ work experience in Logistics industry with solid knowledge of processes, technology, costs and 3PL ecosystem
  • Proven track record of negotiating, selling and closing contract logistics service agreements
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated, entrepreneur attitude. Result driven focus on operation & scale
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, to prioritize those tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong propensity and interest in understanding systems and technology
  • Strong data analysis skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SQL is highly desirable
  • Experience with Lean Management / 6 sigma best practices is highly desirable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Team player who could establish positive and productive working relationships with others in the group
